About Jeff

After seeing young violinists on Sesame Street, Jeff began taking private lessons with a local Suzuki teacher. At the age of ten, he received a full scholarship to Royal St. George's College in Toronto where he joined the choir and went on several tours, including China and Scandinavia. After graduation Jeff joined the York Symphony Orchestra, becoming their youngest member in the orchestra’s 30 year history and began teaching private violin lessons at the Bradford Academy of Music at age 15. In the summer he attended the National Music Camp winning a scholarship from the Canadian Amateur Music Players Association. In his final year of highschool he began attending The Abelard School and The Royal Conservatory of Music, taking lessons from Eugene Kash.

Jeff joined The Blazing Fiddles after his final year of high school and began his post-secondary education at York University in the music program specializing in Jazz performance. Jeff has played in various bands with many different styles and his own group Jeff Taylor and the Senior Leadership Team released their debut album in 2005. Jeff is entering his final year of University as one of York’s premier jazz players and recently opened for Anita O'day, legendary jazz singer. Jeff teaches privately, plays regular gigs in the greater Toronto area, and plans to make performance his career. Find out more about him at Jeff Taylor Violin.com.
