About Danielle
Danielle took up the violin after a tour to Nova Scotia with
the Hamilton Children's Choir in 1992. Under the instruction of Ilona Spleit,
Danielle progressed quickly, and joined her first orchestra after only one month
of lessons. Throughout high school she continued to play with several orchestras
and performed regularly in both the Hamilton and Toronto Kiwanis festivals, winning
many of her categories. Danielle was also involved in The Ontario Sears Drama
Festival and won numerous awards for her arranging work in 1999.
After high school, she attended Queen's University where she
was not only a member of the Queen's Symphony Orchestra but also joined the Kingston
Symphony Association in her second year. Danielle was heavily involved in musical
theatre at Queen's and after three years as Concert Master of the pit orchestra, she
was chosen to conduct in her final year.
Danielle graduated with a Bachelor of Music in 2003 and is
currently residing in Kingston where she teaches violin privately at the Kingston
School of Music and continues to play with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra.
She also performs regularly with her bands in Kingston and the surrounding area.
