About Brittany

For Brittany, strings have largely been a family-oriented skill. All within three years of each other, in Sioux Center Iowa, she and her three siblings picked up the strings three violins and a cello. When Brittany began playing violin she was six years old. Four years later, at the age of ten, Brittany played in her first wedding with the family's newly formed Goheen String Quartet. This was the beginning of an occupation that has continued and enhanced to this day.

At age twelve, Brittany joined the Strings, Etc! youth orchestra and choir, to which she contributed for nine years, becoming the first chair violinist in her sophomore year in highschool. Beginning at age 14, she has been teaching violin lessons for six years, both privately and for Strings, Etc!. Brittany joined The Blazing Fiddles in her senior year of highschool.

After graduating and taking a year off, she entered Redeemer University College, double majoring in Philosophy and English. In her second year, Brittany helped found an instrumental group called the Redeemer Chamber Players. While she is not studying music, Brittany continues to teach private lessons, perform through the summer with The Blazing Fiddles, and play in weddings and various other venues with the Goheen String Quartet.
